About The Conference
What is ICVMCS?
ICVMCS is an academic forum exploring the intersections of ancient Vedic knowledge and modern behavioural science. The conference fosters rigorous, evidence-based inquiry while engaging Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) as a living, testable body of knowledge. Scholars across psychology, humanities, social sciences, philosophy, education, language and cultural studies co-create verifiable, contextually grounded insights.
Why this edition at Miranda House?
Miranda House, University of Delhi, consistently ranked as India’s No. 1 women’s college, stands as a beacon of women’s empowerment, leadership and academic excellence. It has nurtured generations of women scholars who have made significant contributions to the humanities, social sciences and cultural studies, embodying the spirit of Yatra nāryastu pūjyante ramante tatra devatāḥ (where women are honoured, there the divine dwells). The Department of Sanskrit at Miranda House has pioneered scholarship in Indian Knowledge Systems, Vedic thought and interpretive traditions, bridging ancient wisdom with modern behavioral sciences. Its commitment to cultural preservation, inclusive education and interdisciplinary innovation aligns seamlessly with the themes of ICVMCS 2025, making the college an ideal platform for this conference.
